BHN Dienstleistung GmbH & Co. KG is an external IT provider that operates the entire IT infrastructure for a medium‑sized engineering company across about 60 global sites. Facing rising cyber threats, more user connections and a need to bring non‑standard sites into the corporate security fold, BHN launched a full infrastructure upgrade to expand its Check Point footprint, upgrade perimeter gateways and install a new data‑center firewall to securely connect global subsidiaries and support up to ~2,000 users.

BHN deployed Check Point Quantum Security Gateways with R80 Security Management and SmartEvent, using clustered gateways, VPN, mobile access, Identity Awareness, Application Control and Anti‑Bot to ensure high availability and centralized control. The upgrade delivered simpler, unified management, stronger threat visibility and rapid remote access—enabling 1,000+ employees to work from home over a single weekend—and cut firewall/VPN management effort to about a fifth of the time required with other providers, prompting continued multi‑million euro investment.
