A Check Point Software Case Study
Bentley Systems, a global leader in engineering, design, and CAD software with about 3,000 employees and 103 firewalls, needed to maintain global inter-office connectivity and internet access without compromising security. With developers using a wide mix of legacy and current systems and frequent acquisitions to integrate, the company required robust, easy-to-manage intrusion protection that could be deployed worldwide by a small IT team.
Bentley implemented Check Point’s integrated IPS Software Blade across its Power-1 and UTM-1 appliances, stopping the Conficker worm and blocking roughly 10,000 attacks per month. The software-blade architecture delivered seamless, centrally managed protection that saved at least $80,000 by leveraging existing equipment, allowed security rollouts in 3–4 days, and enabled effective global coverage with a security staff of three.
