Belgian Local Authority Doubles its Protection with Check Point

Commune d’Uccle, a local authority south of Brussels serving about 80,000 residents, faced escalating cyber threats while sharing sensitive citizen data and rolling out mobile work for roughly 500 staff. With up to 200 attacks an hour and an ineffective legacy firewall, the municipality needed stronger, more manageable protection to ensure continuity of local services.

Uccle implemented Check Point’s Next Generation Threat Prevention & SandBlast, Next Generation Firewall, Endpoint Security and Mobile Access blade to provide real‑time visibility, proactive zero‑day defense and simplified management. Since the deployment they report no security breaches, “doubled” protection, 50 staff devices already secured and plans to extend protection to hundreds more (including 300 devices across 16 schools).
