ARSAT Upgrades From Cisco to Check Point in Record Time

ARSAT, one of Argentina’s largest ISPs and data‑center providers, needed to replace resource‑hungry Cisco firewalls that frequently crashed and lacked modern threat prevention. The goal was to migrate 60 virtual security systems without disrupting production, gain visibility across a complex environment, automate management, and add GenV threat prevention.

Tecsystem and Evant.io deployed Check Point R80 (R80.30) with Quantum NGFW/23500 gateways and SandBlast, using the SmartMove tool and custom APIs to automate 70% of the migration. The upgrade cut migration time per system from ~27 hours to 33 minutes (a ~95% reduction), reduced policy rules from 40,000 to 6,000, optimized operations by 90%, unified management, and blocked advanced threats across ARSAT’s network.
