Advanced Systems Group Secures the Network with UTM-1 by Check Point

Advanced Systems Group (ASG) is a 100‑person value‑added reseller and national Open Systems integrator with a headquarters in Denver and eight western U.S. offices. As ASG grew from a single site to multiple locations, its IT team faced constrained bandwidth, high costs and limited control from a managed firewall service, and needed a simple, fast, and easy‑to‑manage security solution.

ASG deployed a Check Point UTM-1 Total Security appliance at headquarters and UTM-1 Edge devices at remote sites, gaining integrated firewall, IPS, application control and flexible IPsec/SSL remote access. The change let ASG increase bandwidth from one T1 to seven T1s, cut security management time by about five hours per week, and save roughly $2,000 per month, while improving visibility, VPN simplicity and sales enablement; ASG is now extending protections to antivirus, web app security and endpoint encryption.
