Aalborg Municipality, Denmark’s fourth-largest city, supports roughly 17,000 users across more than 800 locations and manages about 19,000 mailboxes. Facing rising phishing and BEC attacks and a change in Microsoft Defender licensing that left tablet, thin-client and mobile users underprotected, the IT team needed consistent, cost-effective email security that simplified quarantined-email handling and integrated with Microsoft 365 and their ITSM system to reduce support burden.
Working with Check Point Professional Services, Aalborg deployed Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration—expanding a Proof of Concept from 80 users to full coverage in four weeks—and integrated it with their ITSM to automate quarantined-email reviews. The rollout delivered enterprise-wide protection (including Teams and web access), typically blocks 99% of phishing reaching mailboxes, cut daily release support tickets from about 20–25 to 1–2, and increased security visibility and user awareness.
