MVG Märkische Verkehrsgesellschaft, a public transport provider, faced challenges with frequent malfunctions in its digital passenger information systems (DFIs) at bus stops. These issues required time-consuming on-site troubleshooting, increased the technical team's workload, and negatively impacted service quality due to a lack of real-time insights for preventative action. To address this, they turned to their existing vendor, Checkmk, and implemented the Checkmk Pro solution for IoT monitoring.

Checkmk provided out-of-the-box coverage with specialized agents and plug-ins, enabling full visibility into the health of the DFI systems. The solution included a NagVis map for real-time visualization of all bus stops. As a result, MVG significantly reduced its Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR), prevented disruptions, and improved DFI availability. This led to enhanced service quality and a major reduction in workload for the technical team, saving them considerable time and effort.
