One Aldwych takes food safety into the 21st century

One Aldwych, a luxury boutique hotel in Covent Garden, London, was managing food safety and compliance with paper-based processes. The kitchen had to record daily HACCP tasks and manually check 15 fridge and freezer units several times a day, creating a lot of paperwork and making it hard to see when checks had been completed or missed.

One Aldwych installed Checkit automated temperature monitoring and work management to digitize checks, alerts, and records across its 24-hour kitchen operation. Checkit’s cloud-connected handsets and automated records helped eliminate paper, improved visibility and accountability, and saved about an hour of staff time each day. Dominic Teague also said the digital system made reporting more accurate and helped the hotel’s food safety inspection feedback remain positive.
