iPP delivers gold standard pathology service with Checkit Automated Monitoring

Integrated Pathology Partnerships (iPP), which manages Southwest Pathology Services for the NHS in Somerset, needed a compliant way to monitor temperatures across a multi-site pathology operation. With samples, reagents, blood stocks, and other equipment spread across three sites, the team wanted a digital, wireless system that could help reduce the risk of losing temperature-critical materials.

Checkit Automated Monitoring was installed first at the Taunton and Yeovil Essential Service Laboratories and later extended to the SPS Hub, with more than 100 sensors now providing continuous readings and alerts every five minutes. Checkit has given iPP real-time access to temperature data, automatic alerts when readings move out of range, and auditable records for compliance, while saving thousands of hours of manual checking and helping safeguard over 10,000 units of blood each year.
