A Checkfront Case Study
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 90,000‑acre protected area in central Kenya — the largest rhino sanctuary in East Africa and home to the “Big 5” — that welcomes over 70,000 visitors a year. Facing no prior booking system and a quoted bespoke development cost of $500,000, Ol Pejeta needed an affordable, robust way to manage arrivals, payments and visitor data; they selected Checkfront’s online booking system to solve that challenge.
Checkfront implemented an online booking platform that enables advance payments, real‑time guest tracking, upsells, visitor database capture and partner accounts for commissionable bookings. The result: Ol Pejeta replaced a $500,000 development project with a few hours of setup and about $500 in investment, sped up agent bookings, reduced cash handling at the gate, improved daily traffic management and guest experience, and became the first conservancy in East Africa to offer online booking via Checkfront.
