A CheckBox Case Study
The Museum of Science in Boston wanted to create an engaging, interactive exhibit to teach visitors about data collection and analysis, but found traditional pen-and-paper surveys too slow and unappealing for a busy informal learning environment. They needed a scalable, flexible solution that fit the Discovery Center experience and could be easily changed as exhibit needs evolved.
After evaluating options, the museum implemented Checkbox® Mobile (Prezza/Checkbox Survey), enabling administrators to design surveys in a browser and deploy them to staff using wireless Pocket PC devices. Responses are sent over the museum’s Wi‑Fi to a server for analysis and results are displayed on large LCDs in the Discovery Centers. The system required minimal training, increased visitor engagement, and provided reliable behavioral and demographic data to inform exhibit planning.
