Miami University of Ohio, a well-regarded public university in Oxford serving over 14,000 undergraduates and 1,500 graduate students, needed a campus-wide, easy-to-use web survey solution. Departments had been using disparate, often outsourced or custom-built tools, so IT Services sought a centrally managed product that could be hosted on-site, integrate with the university’s authentication system, and let faculty and staff design and deploy surveys quickly and securely.

They selected Checkbox Survey Server and deployed it on their own infrastructure in September 2007. The system now supports 200+ users, backed by pilot testing, in-house training, and prompt vendor support; benefits include faster survey creation, secure IT-managed data storage, role-based permissions, reduced duplication of effort, and steady campus-wide adoption.
