Align Technology, a global medical device company, needed a better way to support its fast-moving legal team. Its existing CLM system was hard for business users to navigate, lacked useful data, and forced legal to spend too much time on manual support instead of higher-value work. To solve this, Align Technology turned to Checkbox and its low-code/no-code legal automation platform.

Using Checkbox, Align Technology built automated intake and triage workflows, a legal front door, and self-service tools, starting with NDA automation. The results included more than 1,000 NDAs generated globally per year, a 96% decrease in legal touchpoints, turnaround times reduced from weeks to days, and only 5–7% of NDAs needing redlines outside the system. Checkbox also enabled non-technical users to build and scale solutions globally, improving collaboration across regions and expanding automation beyond legal into other business functions.
