A Chatfuel Case Study
Bonomi, a Budapest-based startup founded by travel-focused marketing professionals, created Bonomi Assistant to help hotels stay competitive as travelers shifted toward alternative accommodations like Airbnb and as COVID-19 made guests more cautious. The company needed a way for hotels to attract more direct bookings, answer safety and service questions, and provide a more contactless guest experience. Chatfuel’s Messenger chatbot platform was used as the foundation for this hotel-focused solution.
Using Chatfuel, Bonomi built a customizable, white-labeled Facebook Messenger chatbot that can be copied for different hotel clients, integrated with booking systems, and used to upsell services and automate guest support. The results from the first six clients were strong: 3,367 users showed intent to book directly through the chatbot, 2,835 questions were answered automatically, and the tool saved over 140 hours of staff time. Bonomi also launched a free version during the pandemic and gained 10 new customers within a week.
