Case Study: Cronofy streamlines billing and gains MRR visibility with ChartMogul's Import API

A ChartMogul Case Study

Preview of the Cronofy Case Study

How Cronofy integrated the ChartMogul Import API

Cronofy is an API-based calendar infrastructure provider used by products like Zendesk and Skyscanner. Facing a complex billing model (monthly plan fees, per-user unit fees, threshold-based overage bands and some pure-usage customers), they needed to push accurate customers, plans and invoice data into ChartMogul to generate subscription metrics — and initially had no Ruby client for the Import API.

Cronofy built a Ruby gem and integrated with ChartMogul’s Import API, lazy-creating plans at invoice import, consolidating statement lines into line_items, and ensuring customer and regional data were correct. The integration produced reliable subscriptions and KPI metrics in ChartMogul, helped validate and launch the Import API publicly, and gave Cronofy a repeatable way to resync data and visualize their SaaS financials.
