Atrium Health, a major healthcare system, engaged The Chartis Group for advisory services to support the complex clinical integration process following its strategic combination with Wake Forest Baptist Health. The challenge was to unify the clinical and academic capabilities of the two organizations across a broad geographic footprint to achieve a new, integrated academic health system model.

Working side-by-side with Atrium's integration team, The Chartis Group provided facilitative, advisory, and project management support to launch 12 clinical integration design teams. This collaboration resulted in a detailed playbook for integration, enabling the unified system to advance efficiencies, improve clinical outcomes, and expand specialized programs. The effort successfully unified over 1,500 faculty and 5,000 providers, allowing Atrium Health to deliver better, more personalized care to its expanded community.
