A The Chartis Group Case Study
Allegheny Health Network (AHN), a multihospital health system in Western Pennsylvania, faced a highly competitive market with high staff turnover, low conversion rates of physician trainees, and widespread burnout. To become an employer of choice and support its growth ambitions, AHN partnered with The Chartis Group to implement a new emphasis on workforce wellness.
The Chartis Group worked with AHN to systematically identify key friction points across all 22,000 employees, from clinicians to support staff. This led to the creation and execution of targeted action plans. The solution resulted in a significant cultural shift and measurable improvements, including a 41% reduction in RN turnover intention and a 34% reduction in RN burnout. AHN also earned national recognition from the AMA Joy in Medicine program, with 90% of employees reporting they felt joy at work.
