Case Study: Gyft achieves self-service business intelligence and reduces engineering load with Chartio

A Chartio Case Study

Preview of the Gyft Case Study

Enabling Self-Service and Liberating Engineers

Gyft is a digital gift card platform that lets consumers buy, send and manage gift cards and helps businesses run rewards and loyalty programs. Because Gyft deals in cash equivalents, accurate, up-to-date data is essential, but their prior BI tool required heavy analyst and engineering support. They needed a more agile, self-service analytics solution that reduced technical overhead and gave business users direct access to insights.

Gyft implemented Chartio on top of Amazon Redshift summary tables (feeding from MySQL on AWS), which simplified queries and let nontechnical users explore data, import Excel, and answer questions without SQL. Features like shareable chart links, scheduled dashboards and easy cloning accelerated decision-making across marketing, promotions and user acquisition, freeing engineers from routine reporting and improving speed and confidence in business decisions.
