The customer, Signal Mutual, is a leading provider of Longshore workers' compensation insurance. Their challenge was that many smaller waterfront businesses and subcontractors employed too few staff to meet the criteria to join their mutual, creating a gap in the market for affordable coverage. Charles Taylor worked with them to address this need.
Charles Taylor developed SafeShore, a specialist insurance program for employers with a small number of waterfront staff. This solution also protected larger companies from the uninsured risk of subcontractors lacking adequate coverage. In its first year, the program achieved nearly 100 members, successfully widening access to affordable insurance.
