A ChargePoint Case Study
Oyster Development, a San Francisco Bay Area apartment and condo developer, wanted to add EV charging to its Rockwell condominium community without increasing costs or requiring expensive future retrofits. The challenge was fitting charging into a dense puzzle-parking garage while also meeting California EV-ready requirements and preserving limited electrical capacity.
ChargePoint provided pedestal-mounted EV chargers that could move with the puzzle parking system and Power Management software to share available power across stations. ChargePoint’s solution doubled charging capacity with existing electrical infrastructure, helped the project pass inspection as the first EV-charging puzzle parking installation in San Francisco, and gave Oyster a marketable amenity that helped drive sales and attract buyers.
