EV Charging Keeping Pace with Utah's Fastest-Growing University

Utah Valley University, the fastest-growing public university in Utah, needed a reliable EV charging solution that could handle extreme summer heat and winter cold while supporting students, faculty, staff, and commuters. The university turned to ChargePoint and initially installed a dual-port Level 2 charger, a single-port Level 2 charger for its fleet, and a public DC fast charger.

ChargePoint helped UVU expand to 14 charging spots, supported by ENERGY STAR certified CT4000 and CPE250 DC fast charging hardware and ChargePoint cloud-based reporting. The result was strong adoption: unique drivers increased 45% and charging sessions rose 43% between August 2018 and April 2019, while the campus avoided 25,692 kg of greenhouse gas emissions.
