ChaosSearch Creates a Streamlined Centralized Logging Solution for Sixth Street Partners

Sixth Street, a global investment firm with more than $60 billion in assets under management, needed a better way to manage cloud application logging across its AWS environment. The firm wanted a cohesive approach to logging, alerting, monitoring, and lifecycle management for its many bespoke and off-the-shelf applications, and turned to ChaosSearch with Logicworks to find a centralized, cost-effective alternative to maintaining an in-house ELK stack.

ChaosSearch and Logicworks built an automated centralized logging solution using AWS services including EventBridge, CloudWatch Log Groups, Lambda, Kinesis Data Firehose, and S3, with logs flowing into ChaosSearch for indexing, search, analysis, and alerting. Developers only needed to tag Lambda log groups, and enriched logs reached ChaosSearch within minutes with no further manual work. The result saved Sixth Street five hours per engineer per week, reduced headcount costs, and freed engineers to focus on higher-value work.
