A Chaordix Case Study

Preview of the Lego Case Study

LEGO co-creates crowd favorites on a global scale

Lego, the iconic toy maker, faced the challenge of engaging a global, creative fan base to co-create new products, accelerate time to market, and filter thousands of ideas into commercially viable kits. Lego turned to Chaordix to power its global open-innovation community, LEGO Ideas, a simple-to-use platform where fans of all ages can submit and support kit concepts.

Chaordix implemented and ran the LEGO Ideas platform—any idea that reaches 10,000 supporters in 12 months is reviewed—and the results were measurable: time to market dropped from two years to six months, the community grew to over 875,000 members with 20,000+ submissions, and in just over five years 23 co-created kits reached market, with 90% selling out on their first release. Chaordix’s solution directly drove faster product development, strong demand, and repeated best-sellers for Lego.
