How EPRI delivers the Nuclear Promise Initiative with CHAMPS Analytics

EPRI partnered with CHAMPS Analytics to tackle rising cost pressures from cheap natural gas by identifying where the most expensive preventive maintenance (PM) dollars were being spent. Reliability engineers faced hard-to-mine, complex PM data and needed a way to analyze spending and optimize PM strategies without compromising equipment reliability across nuclear plants.

CHAMPS implemented a Qlik-based, industry-wide analytics platform in under six months, giving every utility fleet-level and asset-class visibility to target high-value PM optimizations. The rollout achieved 99% North American participation, delivered over $2M in member savings within six months, assembled fleet data and deployed the solution in under a year, and is projected to yield tens of millions in savings while enabling trusted, data-driven decisions.
