Replicated Speeds Up CVE Patches and Reclaims Engineering Resources with Chainguard

Replicated, a provider of cloud-native application tools, faced the significant challenge of "vulnerability sprawl," where their engineering team was spending excessive time and resources patching and triaging CVEs in third-party open source libraries. This effort was hampered by countless false positives, diverting focus from innovation. To proactively enhance security for their platform and their customers, Replicated sought a solution and partnered with Chainguard.

By adopting Chainguard Images, Replicated implemented a developer-friendly, secure-by-default solution that addressed vulnerabilities at the source image level. This shift from Chainguard drastically reduced their CVE burden; for example, an engineering task that took just 20 minutes to switch to a Chainguard Golang image eliminated 66 vulnerabilities. The results were immediate and impactful, freeing Replicated's engineers to focus on higher-priority security initiatives and providing their customers with greater confidence in the security of their deployments.
