A ChainDrive Case Study
Levines Department Stores, a family‑owned Dallas retailer with more than 75 years in the community, was hampered by an aging, batch‑based POS and a patchwork of manual processes. Poor inventory visibility, disconnected remote stores, and labor‑intensive accounting threatened the company’s ability to react quickly—an urgent problem when the Dallas ISD announced a mandatory dress code that would dramatically shift back‑to‑school demand.
Levines implemented ChainDrive by Multidev, a single‑source, real‑time POS and back‑office integration that delivered live inventory visibility, automated min/max reordering, and a custom layaway workflow. Integrated PIN‑based payment processing and floating tills reduced errors and sped reconciliation, while automated layaway and customer segmentation enabled targeted marketing (including tax‑holiday strategies). The results: Levines capitalized on the school uniform opportunity, handled much higher layaway volumes, achieved measurable sales lifts from targeted campaigns, and greatly improved operational efficiency.
