Chainalytics Improves Food Manufacturer’s Green Initiatives with Packaging Redesign Strategy

Food Manufacturing Company partnered with Chainalytics to reduce the carbon footprint of its frozen pizza supply chain, but it needed help identifying where to start. Through a value chain assessment and packaging solution from Chainalytics, the company looked for a way to cut emissions and costs without hurting the product’s marketing appeal or operations.

Chainalytics recommended a subtle packaging redesign using a “visual indifference” strategy that reduced carton dimensions while preserving branding. The result was a 1.4 million sq. ft. reduction in paperboard, 25% higher pallet density, 721,000 cubic feet less storage space, over $611K in savings, 22% fewer annual trailer loads, 17,300 fewer gallons of diesel used, and 192 tons less CO2 emissions.
