Connecticut State Police safeguards citizens from digital crimes

Connecticut State Police faced a growing challenge from cryptocurrency-related crimes, including larcenies and complex investment scams that were difficult to trace using traditional investigative methods. To better understand and pursue these digital financial crimes, the agency worked with Chainalysis and used the Chainalysis Investigative Suite and investigations solution.

With Chainalysis, Connecticut State Police gained access to real-world blockchain data, investigative expertise, and direct support from the Chainalysis Investigations team. In one pig butchering scam involving losses of more than $1 million, Chainalysis helped trace funds to a real-world known entity, enabling legal process to be served and strengthening the agency’s ability to build cases, make arrests, and seize assets.
