A CGE Energy Case Study
Madonna University, a large Catholic university in Livonia, Michigan, faced a growing challenge with frequent lamp failures in exterior and parking lot lighting across its 80-acre campus. The inconsistent lighting created safety concerns and made budgeting for maintenance difficult. CGE Energy’s CGE Protect service was brought in to address the university’s lighting maintenance needs.
CGE Energy completed a full analysis of the lighting system, built an offsite inventory of needed components, and performed a full re-lamp to create a more consistent campus lighting appearance and improve failure predictability. Over five years, CGE Energy made 62 repair visits under the CGE Protect program with no extra charges, and the work would have cost more than $26,000 at fair market value. The solution reduced lighting maintenance expenses by 29% and helped keep Madonna University’s campus well lit and safe for its 4,500 students.
