A CGE Energy Case Study
MacLean-Fogg, a global leader in manufacturing bolts and studs for high-temperature and high-vibration applications, needed to improve lighting in its 50,000-square-foot Chesterfield, Michigan facility to better support its lean 5-S manufacturing environment. After nearly a decade of use, its existing LED lighting had degraded, reducing light levels and efficiency.
CGE Energy engineered and redesigned the facility’s lighting system, using fewer fixtures while increasing illumination levels. The project cut fixture count from 185 to 92 and is expected to deliver average monthly energy and maintenance savings of $2,256, with projected 10-year energy cost savings of $129,731 and a 57% reduction in energy costs.
