Comerica Bank of Howell, part of Comerica Bank’s 481-branch network, wanted to improve its clients’ banking experience by upgrading light levels while reducing operating costs. CGE Energy provided an energy-efficient lighting retrofit to address the bank’s high lighting energy use.

CGE Energy upgraded 182 fixtures at the Howell branch, replacing exterior metal halide lights with T5 fluorescent fixtures, converting wall packs to compact fluorescents, retrofitting interior troffers to T5 lamps, and adding sensors where applicable. The project cut energy usage by 63%, delivered a 27-month ROI, generated average monthly savings of $256, and is projected to save $35,233 over 10 years.
