Briarwood Ford, a dealership in Saline, Michigan, wanted to make its parking lot lighting more energy efficient and improve the appearance and performance of the lot. CGE Energy analyzed the existing layout and recommended upgrading the outdated metal halide fixtures to Cree® Edge HD LED fixtures designed specifically for auto dealers.

CGE Energy implemented the LED lighting upgrade, reducing the number of fixtures from 130 to 74 and cutting energy use by 66%. The new lighting improved color rendering and visibility across the lot, helped secure a $50,400 rebate from DTE Energy, and is expected to deliver a 36-month ROI, $4,880 in average monthly savings, and projected energy savings of $271,210 over 5 years and $585,617 over 10 years.
