A CGE Energy Case Study
Advanced Technology Academy, a Dearborn, Michigan public charter school, needed to improve the efficiency of its outdated interior and exterior lighting systems. CGE Energy was selected to engineer and install an energy project that addressed interior lighting upgrades and parking lot lighting improvements.
CGE Energy upgraded ATA’s T12 fixtures to energy-efficient T8 lamps and replaced 118 exterior fixtures with 56 Cree LED fixtures, exceeding the school’s light-level goals. The project delivered a 45 kW lighting demand reduction, 72% energy savings, a $12,500 rebate, and an estimated 30-month ROI, with projected 10-year energy cost savings of $254,644.
