Accu-Shape Die Cutting, a Michigan-based die cutter, was looking for innovative ways to reduce costs, cut waste, and improve energy efficiency in its 45,000-square-foot facility. To support those goals, the company partnered with CGE Energy and its CGE Sustain program to upgrade interior lighting with more efficient LED fixtures.

CGE Energy maintained previous light levels while cutting the number of fixtures in half, helping Accu-Shape achieve an average 51% monthly reduction in energy usage. With $0 upfront cost, the upgrade delivered immediate positive cash flow, $44,846 in increased profitability over 8 years, 445,000 kWh of energy saved, and environmental benefits equivalent to 294 acres of trees planted and 685,000 lbs. of CO2 removed.
