Kellogg Company, a $14 billion global food manufacturer operating more than 100 sales, distribution and manufacturing facilities, relied on paper checklists for behavioral EHS observations. That approach left data siloed at site level, required error-prone manual spreadsheet entry, forced investment in costly proprietary scanners and locked them into expensive printing — so Kellogg turned to Certainty Software’s checklist/inspection platform to modernize its observation system.

Certainty Software implemented a solution that lets sites bulk scan completed checklists using existing copier “scan to email” functionality, automatically populating data into the Certainty platform. The change eliminated the need for proprietary scanners and a third‑party data-collection consultant, gave each site ownership of data and reporting, sped visibility from days or weeks to near real-time, and saved a significant amount of money while improving EHS performance.
