A Cerri Case Study
SCHOTT is a multinational technology group with more than 125 years of experience in specialty glass, materials and components across multiple business units. The IT organization needed a scalable Service and Demand Management solution to support about 4,500 users worldwide, frequent SAP rollout projects (6–8 per year) and ITIL-aligned incident, change and problem processes; requirements were defined with BearingPoint while previous processes relied on Excel and a service-provider tool.
After a three-month vendor selection SCHOTT chose Genius Project and completed implementation in three months. The tool met all Demand and Service Management requirements, integrated with Lotus Notes, and included a web interface for direct incident entry. Sixty-five IT staff and external resources went live in October 2008, with centralized resource and time reporting (transferred to SAP via a custom interface), better visibility of projects, incidents and changes, and plans to expand into portfolio management and simulation.
