Carolinas HealthCare System, a large regional health system, needed to optimize acute-care nursing documentation and migrate from Cerner’s PowerForms to iView. Retraining more than 8,000 nurses, nursing assistants and clinical staff across 12 facilities presented major logistical challenges, disrupted bedside care, and would have cost roughly $1.8 million in wages using traditional classroom sessions.

Cerner Learning Services worked with the system’s clinical informatics team to deliver four focused web-based training modules (totaling up to two hours) plus up to two hours of onsite practice tailored to unit workflows. The blended approach halved required training time, avoided about $840,000 in expenses, was well received by staff, and supported a smooth go‑live with no major documentation issues.
