Great River Health Systems, a regional health system in Southeast Iowa that had implemented over 50 Cerner solutions, sought a more productive practice management platform to improve patient care, clinic throughput and staff satisfaction. After evaluating options at the 2015 Ambulatory Summit, they chose Cerner Practice Management (CPM) to streamline registration, scheduling, patient accounting and reporting across their clinics.
Great River implemented CPM in 16 clinics between October 2015 and August 2016, and AR days fell by 13.4 days. Staff and physician satisfaction rose as registration became faster with fewer clicks, patient wait times decreased, and improved front‑end/back‑end communication led to reduced denial rates, higher clean-claim rates, increased net revenue and better collections.
