Baystate Health, a nearly 1,000‑bed health system, was challenged by slow clinical system performance—providers faced long page loads and logins that cost time in a fast‑paced hospital environment. Improving Millennium® system responsiveness was a priority to keep workflows efficient and patient care uninterrupted.
Baystate moved to Cerner’s remote hosting (CernerWorks managed services) and flipped to the RHO in November 2016. Average transaction response time fell from 0.68s (Aug–Oct 2016) to 0.35s (Jan–Mar 2017), a 48% improvement, and Millennium logins dropped from 2.76s to 1.54s. The transition was smooth, freed internal resources for other projects, and was widely praised by Baystate’s IT leadership.
