A Cerner Case Study
Banner Health, a 28-hospital acute-care system, faced high costs and inefficient workflows from paper forms—spending about $1.7 million annually on printing, signing, rescanning and storing documents, which led to errors, delays and storage burdens.
In 2012 Banner implemented Cerner Millennium eForms and Content360 Patient eSignature to capture signatures and documents electronically. Within a year they cut more than $1.2 million, reduced annual form spending to $181,000 by 2014, and saved nearly $2 million over three years; ten hospitals eliminated roughly 320,000 paper scans, reduced technical denials and file storage needs, and 21 hospitals reached HIMSS Analytics Stage 7.
