Autoverification of lab results saves time and reduces error risk at Nevada Regional Medical Center

Nevada Regional Medical Center, a rural hospital in Nevada, Missouri, faced slow, manual lab result entry into the EHR and wanted to reduce turnaround time and error risk. It implemented Cerner’s PathNet® autoverification for lab results so most tests could upload automatically, with staff only intervening when results were irregular.

With Cerner, the hospital sped up lab workflows and improved care delivery. The average turnaround time for a basic metabolic panel dropped from 23 minutes to just over 18 minutes, and troponin turnaround also improved slightly, helping physicians make faster decisions and patients receive results sooner, while reducing manual work and the chance of errors.
