Sungard Availability Services (Sungard AS), an IT production and recovery services provider, was undergoing financial restructuring and needed to upgrade its end-of-life Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and database systems. The company engaged vendor Centroid to perform an analysis and determine the best course of action to modernize its ERP platform while finding significant cost savings.

Centroid designed and engineered an upgrade path utilizing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for both PaaS and IaaS. Through license optimization and contract restructuring, Centroid delivered substantial net cost savings of nearly $500,000 per year for the customer. The project was completed with no business operation disruptions and was followed by a successful second phase to migrate legacy systems to OCI.
