Hitachi Computer Products (America) Inc. needed to improve its Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Business Intelligence reporting environment to ensure accurate enterprise reporting and better value from its BI investment. To help assess the current state and identify improvement opportunities, Hitachi engaged Centroid and its Oracle BI and technology experts, using Business Intelligence solutions and BI Analytics/BI Apps as the basis for the review.
Centroid implemented the assessment recommendations by rolling out BI Publisher for operational reports, removing direct queries from the OBIEE RPD, cleaning up the catalog and repository, and providing user training and documentation. The results included more accurate reports, improved performance, reduced complexity, and a better-organized BI environment; Centroid also delivered 259 reports in 6 weeks versus an initial target of 75, while helping Hitachi build greater self-sufficiency.
