DMC Carter Chambers - Customer Case Study

DMC Carter Chambers, an oil and gas parts distributor with 500+ employees, needed a way to isolate specialty purchased items from standard inventory allocations in Oracle E-Business Suite while preserving average costing. The company worked with Centroid to address challenges around unique purchase orders, special pricing, and routing received items to the correct sales order or WIP job without affecting normal costing.

Centroid implemented a depot repair “pegging” extension for Oracle EBS R12.1.3 using its solution platform, including DFF-based identification, dynamic subinventory/locator assignment, and a hard reservation process tied to demand. The result was accurate reservation and fulfillment for WIP jobs and sales orders, with specialty pricing and receipt costs flowing correctly into the right transactions while protecting average costing across other DMC orgs.
