The Pirbright Institute cuts net energy use by 12.5% with Centrica Business Solutions

The Pirbright Institute, a research center dedicated to studying infectious animal diseases, sought to reduce its energy consumption and work towards its zero-carbon future goal. Centrica Business Solutions partnered with the institute to implement a sustainable on-site energy solution.

Centrica Business Solutions installed a new Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant. This solution is projected to reduce the institute's net energy use by 12.5% and save nearly £700,000 annually. The CHP will provide around 75% of the site's power needs, significantly lowering its reliance on the grid and helping The Pirbright Institute attain its sustainability ambitions.
