Goonhilly Earth Station, a pioneer in satellite communications with expanding data centre, deep space communications, and manufacturing operations, needed a better way to monitor its energy consumption across a large and energy-intensive site. Working with Centrica Business Solutions, it turned to the Energy Insight solution, Panoramic Power, to gain clearer visibility into power usage and identify areas of waste.

Centrica Business Solutions installed 165 wireless, self-powered sensors across the Goonhilly site, feeding real-time data into the cloud-based PowerRadar analytics platform. The result was immediate: Goonhilly expects at least a 10% reduction in energy consumption, while also improving operational efficiency, enabling predictive maintenance, and helping reduce energy bills.
