Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust saves £780,000 a year with Centrica Business Solutions

The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust faced the challenge of meeting stringent carbon reduction targets while needing to fund the replacement of its aging energy infrastructure without upfront capital. Centrica Business Solutions was selected to implement a comprehensive energy services package centered around a combined cooling, heat, and power (CCHP) trigeneration system.

Centrica Business Solutions financed and installed the trigeneration technology, new boilers, efficient lighting, and a building management system. This solution required zero capital investment from the Trust and was partially funded by a secured grant. The project achieved annual energy and operational cost savings of £780,000, reduced CO2 emissions by 2,000 tonnes, and significantly improved comfort for patients and staff.
