Centrica Business Solutions worked with School District Energy Supply Chain, a local school district struggling to identify where energy was being wasted because of varied usage patterns across students and staff. The district needed a better way to understand consumption and find opportunities to cut energy costs, using Centrica’s Panoramic Power energy insights solution.

Centrica Business Solutions carried out a two-month trial, installing self-powering wireless sensors across devices throughout the school district to monitor circuit-level energy use and detect inefficiencies. The approach identified potential savings of up to 250,000 kWh per year, worth about £17,600 ($23,000), helping the district reduce waste and improve operational effectiveness.
