Plastic company saves 35% in energy costs with Energy Insights and CHP solution

FITT, a manufacturer of thermoplastic fluid transport solutions, wanted to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact across its production sites in Italy. After successfully completing a cogeneration project at its Fara Vicentino facility, FITT looked to Centrica Business Solutions to replicate a similar solution at its Sandrigo plant, adding better energy monitoring and cooling performance through Energy Insight/Panoramic Power and an absorption chiller.

Centrica Business Solutions implemented a containerised trigeneration/cogeneration system with a closed cooling circuit and real-time energy monitoring at Sandrigo. The result was a 35% reduction in energy costs, nearly €100,000 in annual cooling savings, and elimination of groundwater use, while also reducing CO2 emissions; FITT also generated almost €200,000 per year from white certificates at the other facility.
