Newcastle United worked with Centrica Business Solutions to improve its carbon performance beyond existing efficiency measures such as boiler optimisation, lighting upgrades, and energy monitoring. The club needed a permanent, cost-effective onsite solution that could deliver further emissions reductions without upfront capital costs.

Centrica Business Solutions implemented ENER-G Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units, working around tight stadium space by delivering the equipment in sections and rebuilding it onsite. The system now supplies electricity, heating, and hot water while reducing Newcastle United’s CO2 emissions by 390 tonnes per year, with real-time monitoring and a pay-as-you-save model that required zero CAPEX.
